We have produced more than 50 events and raised more than £60k for charity.

Amateur drama is amazingly popular in the UK. Wherever you travel you will invariably see a poster advertising the local group’s next play and a drive through Lacey Green, near Princes Risborough in Bucks is no exception. But those of us who regularly perform with Lacey Green Productions (LGP) like to think our group is a little different! LGP is financed from ticket sales and membership is completely free.

Since the group was formed in 1983, we've raised more than £60,000 for charity - in fact all our profits go to good causes. We have spread the money raised between local, national and international charities such as Helen House Hospice, Roy Castle Cause for Hope Foundation, Mind and Florence Nightingale Hospice in Aylesbury. More locally, we have raised money for the village's sports club, the playground appeal and the local church. In 1998 and 1999, our audiences helped us raise £6,000 for the rebuilding of the Village Hall, where we now do our bigger shows.

However we also like to experiment with different venues. We go "on tour" (mostly within Bucks!) to perform our self-scripted murder mysteries. Our “Theatre at Home” series - staged at a member's house - has become a popular addition to our regular calendar.

Those of us who participate in LGP performances - whether acting, backstage or front of house - are no different to any other amateur drama group members around the country. Basically we can’t stay at home for another night of mediocre television and we enjoy entertaining our audiences, whether they are friends, acquaintances or indeed people who wandered in thinking they were there for archery or yoga in the village hall!

We are starting to plan performances for the next twelve months. For up to date info, click on the In The Pipeline  tab. If you would like to be involved in any capacity, please contact us now by emailing info@laceygreenproductions.co.uk.

New members are always welcome at any time.
